Q: What’s the difference between Monofloral and Multifloral Mānuka honey?

Monofloral Mānuka comes almost entirely from the nectar of Mānuka flowers. It’s rarer, stronger, and more valuable. Multifloral Mānuka contains some Mānuka nectar but is blended naturally with other New Zealand wildflowers. To be sold or exported as Mānuka honey, NZ law requires proof. Each batch must pass a 5-attribute test set by the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI):

How do I know your honey is real Manuka?

Every batch is independently tested in New Zealand under government rules. Results confirm authenticity and strength (MGO level), and you can view your jar’s certificate by scanning the QR code on the label.

Why aren't you UMF™ registered

The UMF™ association tests for 4 markers (MGO, HMF, DHA, and Leptosperin) to prove manuka authenticity - but charges $40k in membership fees and royalties. These costs are ultimately get passed on to consumers.

At Wonder Honey, we test for all of these plus 22 more (26 in total), exceeding both UMF™ and NZ Government requirements without burdening our customers with unnecessary fees

New Zealand has a very small population (about 5 million people) and the retail space is crowded. We focus on exporting and selling directly to customers overseas so we can keep prices fair and ensure quality.

Do you use heat treatment or additives?

No. Our honey is raw, natural, and minimally processed. We don’t add anything or over-heat the honey — this preserves its natural enzymes and beneficial compounds.
