Get your Daily Dose of Manuka

Many people enjoy a daily spoonful of Manuka honey as part of their routine. Here's how to make the most of it — Manuka honey is a natural wholefood, not a medicine, and we make no medical claims about it.

What is Manuka honey?

Manuka honey comes from the nectar of the Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium), native to New Zealand. Its signature compound is methylglyoxal (MGO), the marker we grade and certify.

Why people enjoy it daily

It's a raw, unheated, natural alternative to refined sugar with a rich, full-bodied flavour. Many people simply enjoy the taste and the reassurance of a certified, traceable product.

How much, and how to enjoy it

A typical serving is 1–2 teaspoons (about 5–10 g) a day. Enjoy it:

  • By the spoonful
  • Stirred into tea or warm water
  • Over yoghurt, oats or fruit
  • As a natural sweetener in recipes (add after cooking to keep it raw)

Choosing quality

Look for a certified MGO rating (300+ is a good everyday choice) and independent test results.

A note on sugar & medications

Manuka honey is high in natural sugar. If you have diabetes, are watching your weight, or take medications, talk to your doctor before adding it to your routine. Never give honey to infants under 12 months.
